Mr. Haywood, with over 15 years of experience as a performer, educator, songwriter and producer, has traveled nationally and internationally conducting music workshops and performances in countries such as France, Sweden, Finland, Netherlands, Columbia, Costa Rica and Japan as well as in the United States.
His performance experiences include performing with hip-hop artist/actor Ludacris and R&B singer T-Pain. He has appeared on several late night television shows such as: Saturday Night Live, The Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Jimmy Kimmel Live. Through his associations and performances with Wynton Marsalis and Marcus Roberts, Mr. Haywood has shared the stage with musical giants such as: cellist Yo-Yo Ma, the incomparable violinist Itzhak Perlman, the late great Grover Washington Jr. and, legendary conductor Seiji Ozawa.
As a young musician, Mr. Haywood was a featured trumpet soloist on the PBS special, ‘Marsalis on Music’. In 1995, Mr. Haywood became the youngest person to ever perform with the prestigious Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. Jazz festivals that Mr. Haywood has performed in include the Monterey Jazz Festival, JVC Jazz Festival, Prague Jazz Festival (Czech Republic), North Sea Festival (the Netherlands), Vienne Jazz Festival (France), Pori Jazz Festival (Finland), and Vitoria Jazz Festival (Spain). Mr. Haywood has also performed as a guest classical soloist with the Jacksonville and Gateway Symphony Orchestras in Florida, home of his youth.
